Admissions Tests

Each Medical School has their own entry requirements which can include a certain entry examination, additional to your A-Levels. Read this guide to find out what these entry exams entail and how best to tackle them.

University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT)

The University Clinical Aptitude Test is a computer-based examination that takes 2 hours to sit, and it is used by the majority of UK medical and dental schools. It used to be called the UKCAT, and if you know anyone who has applied for medical school in the past few years this is what they would have called it. It tests aptitude rather than academic ability.

BioMedical Admissions Test (BMAT)

The BMAT test (BioMedical Admissions Test) is administered by Cambridge Assessments Admissions Testing. You can take the test either on Saturday 31 August or Wednesday 30 October 2019.
